TOTAL BASE: 3 to 4 inches

SNOWFALL LAST 24 HOURS: None

TRAIL CONDITIONS: Good to Excellent

NOTE: On the west trail between markers #8 & #9 there is logging going on. The logging trucks are crossing the trail and making it a hazard to snowmobiles by leaving big ruts. Watch for this area and slow down and watch for trucks.

The groomers will be going out as scheduled for the weekend. From the reports we have been getting the the north trail is the best it has been this year, especially closer to Kalkaska.. The trails are very icy under the snow so be careful on them. When you are out riding make sure to watch for groomers we've had a couple of close calls this year.

Remember all of our groomer drivers are volunteers so if you get a chance tell them thank you or a thumbs up, it means alot to them to know they are appreciated. Make sure to pick up one of our trail maps, we have some out on the trails in mailboxes at some map board locations and at our map sponsors. Support our sponsors and when you visit one of them tell them thank you for supporting GTASC

Ride safe and ride sober!! Remember to watch for groomers you never know when one will be coming around a corner or over a hill. Also remember that the signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the safety of snowmobilers, so please don't remove them. If you have any questions about grooming or comments about the trails good or bad we would like to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us at gtascsnow@gmail.com

North Trail- Starts at Ranch Rudolf, goes north to marker 2 then west to High Lake Rd. and east to Kalkaska.

East Trail- Starts at Ranch Rudolf goes east up Jack Pine road to marker 6 then north to Kalkaska and south to Fife Lake and the Manistee River.

West Trail- Starts at Ranch Rudolf, goes to marker 8 then west to the fairgrounds trail head and south to marker 7.

The grooming schedule is as follows, subject to cold temps. and enough snow on the trails to groom.

North & East; Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday

West; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
TOTAL BASE: 5 to 6 inches

SNOWFALL LAST 24 HOURS: 3 to 4 inches

TRAIL CONDITIONS: Good to Excellent

Well we finally got some snow, about 4 inches of light fluffy snow overnight. This will help to cover some of the icy corners, but you still need to be careful in the corners.

We have about 3 to 4 inches of snow covering a ice base, you still need to be careful in the corners. The temps have been in the low 30's with a little rain yesterday but it didn't hurt the trails at all. It will be a great weekend for riding. When you are out riding make sure to watch for groomers we've had a couple of close calls this year.

The trails are holding up good even though we haven't had any snow lately. There's no snow in the long range forcast and daytime temps in the 30's, so with that said grooming will be mostly done at night when the temp. is colder. For now grooming will go on as scheduled for now. They are calling for mid 30's and 40's this weekend during the day and 20's at night. The trails might take a beating with the warmer temps and alot of sled traffic, but we'll do the best we can to get them back into shape. When you are out riding make sure to watch for groomers we've had a couple of close calls this year.

TOTAL BASE: 2 to 3 inches

SNOWFALL LAST 24 HOURS: None

TRAIL CONDITIONS: Fair to Good

The trails are holding up pretty good even though we haven't had any snow lately. The north trail seems to be holding up good, a few spots of dirt showing out in the open areas, the west trail is holding up good also and the east trail is in worst shape, it's still rideable as of now but alot of areas with dirt showing through. There's no snow in the long range forcast and daytime temps in the 30's, so with that said grooming will be mostly done at night when the temp. is colder. We are still grooming, but it looks like this weekend will be the end until we get more snow. They are calling for mid 30's and 40's this weekend during the day and 20's at night. The trails might take a beating with the warmer temps and alot of sled traffic.

TOTAL BASE: 2 to 3 inches

SNOWFALL LAST 24 HOURS: None

TRAIL CONDITIONS: Poor to Fair

The groomers have been parked until we get some more snow. The trails took a beating this weekend with the warm temps and heavy sled traffic. The north trail seems to be holding up the best, with areas of standing water in low spots and dirt showing in the open areas where the sun hits the trail, the same for the west trail also and the east trail is not to bad to the north but is in worst shape to the south. Trails are still rideable as of now but alot of areas are getting thin or have dirt showing through. There is still alot of snow for off trail riding, but getting into towns for gas and food will be a challenge. There's no snow in the long range forcast and they are calling for 40's this week during the day and 30's at night.

The groomers have been parked, the trails have bare spots and standing water in some areas. There is still snow for off trail riding, but getting into towns for gas and food will be a challenge. There's no snow in the long range forcast and they are calling for high 40's to low 50's this week with rain the next three days.

This will be the last post for the season unless we get enough snow to groom.
